Besides handling the physical devices failure Microsoft takes care of the OS and Networking issues, up-gradation and maintenance. The common examples of PaaS services are App Services, Azure Search and Azure CDN.
SaaS
If you need any custom software to configure, manage and maintain the same, you need to first build the underlying infrastructure and make sure to have the platform for the software to run without issue. Azure software as a services takes care of the Infrastructure and platform underlying it. It creates a smooth transition to set up and configure your software according to business need.
